Advocating for Our Patients







On October 15, 2019, the residents, faculty and staff gathered in the parking lot of the East Niles Community Health Center for a press conference.

We expressed our opinions regarding the halt to public charge rule which was detrimental for the health of our undocumented patients. Dr Stewart reflecting on her New York roots inspired all present with the famous New Colossus poem written by Emma Lazarus in 1883, which is at the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty in New York City.

“Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”, quoted Dr Stewart.

An Exemplary Graduate


Dr Jasmeet Bains, one of our graduates (2018) was honored as a hero in Taft for working in Family Medicine.

Jas was known to be very proactive in serving our community.
